Crosses of Power is 30 pages of emotional wilderness from the first months of 2010, the ultimate postcard from the edge of the feminist avant-garde. It features a new form of purely visual dialogue and storytelling that was under development by the the artist Pam Cameron-Snyder at the time. As the memories, dreams, visions and every day realities merge and connect people, the interactions in this underground landscape turn out to be as absurd and dark as struggles for power are in the outside world. Anything magical turns out to be as violent and silly as the distractions that have sickened the human population at large, but in this situation, it's the imagination fighting its way back from the decaying effects of life under Late Capitalism. Cameron-Snyder has gone on to continue the story with larger works that are currently in progress, including the longer and wilder graphic novel Wave Forms, and her experimental manifesto and performance work, SANDY.
